Florida Becomes the 5th State to Pass “No Net Loss” Legislation
The Florida Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus was triumphant when the Florida legislature unanimously passed HB 265, a “No Net Loss” of public hunting land bill. In doing so, Florida became the 5th state to pass the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC) model legislation joining Arkansas, Illinois, Maryland and Mississippi. The Florida Sportsmen’s Caucus also sent a sportsmen’s voter registration act and youth apprentice hunting bill to Governor Bush.

South Carolina Lawmakers Form Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus, Becoming 29th in a National Network
State legislators voted today to form the South Carolina Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, becoming the 29th in a national network of state legislative sportsmen’s caucuses focused on promoting a pro-sportsmen’s agenda in the halls of state government. The Caucus serves as an identified group of allies willing to stand up for the rights of sportsmen when pertinent legislation is introduced.

Governor Signs Pro-Sportsmen Legislation; Spends the Afternoon Celebrating Mississippi’s Hunting Heritage
Governor Haley Barbour spent the afternoon away from the Capitol with members of the Mississippi Sportsmen’s Caucus to sign three pro-sportsmen bills into law and celebrate Mississippi’s hunting heritage with legislators in shooting rounds of sporting clays. More than 20 legislators gathered around the Governor as he signed into law - “no net loss” of public hunting lands, internet hunting ban and the creation of an apprentice hunting program - all introduced and supported by the recently formed Mississippi Sportsman’s Caucus.
