Brad Rowse Memorial Wildlife Policy Fellowship
In December 2004, the sportsmen's-conservation community lost a rising star with the death of Brad Rowse, CSF's State Caucus Manager. To develop future wildlife professionals and to carry on the passion that Brad Rowse brought to sportsmen's policy, CSF and The Wildlife Society have partnered together to create the Brad Rowse Memorial Wildlife Policy Fellowship. Gaining Ground for Youth Hunting from California to Michigan
Sportsmen legislators around the country are embracing the campaign to increase youth hunting opportunities by introducing legislation creating mentored hunting programs. These programs allow young people to venture out into the field on a supervised hunt with a fully licensed hunter before being required to sit through many hours of hunter education classes.

Illinois Sportsmen’s Caucus Introduces Hunter Apprentice Program Legislation
Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus members sponsored legislation to create a youth hunter apprentice program. The amendment they attached to HB 5407 would establish a program authorizing a resident parent, guardian or grandparent of a youth who is between the ages of 10 and 15 to apply for an apprentice hunter permit when that resident applicant applies for any permit or hunting license.

Mississippi Legislature Passes Sportsmen’s Caucus Bill to Ban Internet Hunting
Legislators in Mississippi continued a promising trend on Thursday when a bill to ban computer-assisted remote hunting in the state passed the House.
