Mission
To unite state legislators to support hunting, fishing and trapping in America.
Goals
- To work within the halls of state government to support legislation to protect and promote the traditional privileges enjoyed by American citizens to hunt, fish, and trap.
- To ensure access to public lands for the enjoyment of outdoor pursuits.
- To safeguard the integrity of user-pay trust funds, license revenues and other dedicated contributions by hunters and anglers.
- To support and enhance state fish and wildlife habitat management and conservation.
- To encourage the growth of outdoor industries by recognizing the importance of hunting and fishing to local, state and national economies.
Objectives
- To unite state legislators by organizing state legislative sportsmen’s caucuses.
- To establish the linkage among state sportsmen’s caucuses by facilitating communication and information exchange between state sportsmen’s caucuses in support of legislation to promote and protect the right and opportunity to hunt, fish and trap.
- To develop a coordinated resource base for sportsmen’s issues addressed in state legislatures throughout America.
- To undertake research on the economic benefits of fishing and hunting.
- To provide a conduit for hunting and fishing organizations to work with in promoting state legislation.
